Sword Rule Question

This is almost silly, but after watching a friend play God of War I got inspired with a question: is it legal to attatch the pommel of a sword to a gauntlet or something with rope? I realize it's unlawful according to the Other Good Book to throw your weapon unless it's that specific class, but say someone bashed the weapon out of your hand and several feet away...you don't want to be caught with your pants down. So I figured perhaps this would be a way to combat helplessness.

Please don't berade me for such childish questions...I've never even played the game except for little matches I hold against friends when we're bored.
