Here are pictures of my prostetics. Can I fight in them? What mods must i make to do so? I am just conserned about others safety!!!

I am worried about other fighters getting hurt. i have fought for almost 10 years, i have put my legs to the red weapon test many times. i want to know if i should pad them so others don't fall and get hurt on my legs. as a medic in the U.S.Army other poeples safety is foremost in my mind. i am a member of the western Uruk-Hia, you can't hurt me!!!

First, there are absolutely no rules governing prosthetics, so i'm just bringing up things i would be concerned about. I'm sure you're aware of your own abilities and limitations, but fighting wise being able to take a knee if struck in the leg would be a big one for me. You should probably talk to your realm leader and establish how that should be handled. I would say dragging the leg if you can't go down on it would be good enough, but that is based solely on your picture. I would also question how stable they are for being hit in the leg. Make sure that you are very aware of any strikes to them, since you probably can't judge force that well. I wouldn't say they would need any additional padding.

Edit your original post if you have more questions.

Make sure that the prosthetics you wear out onto the field can handle it. There's some serious force behind some of our weapons, and I imagine it would cramp your style badly if they got ruined.

Other than that, I think Cyric pretty much has you covered.

I wouldn't be too overly concerned about injuring others, though I would stay away from grapples personally. That would remove 99% of the chances for injuries.

It could be argued that prosthetic limbs are a form of safety equipment (i.e. safe movement on the field requires their use), and if they are made of at least partial plastic they might fall under the following:

3.6.2. A Combatant wearing plastic safety equipment is treated as leather Armor for grappling purposes only.

Around 1999 in Southern Marches there was a member who had a prosthetic leg which included the knee joint as well as the ankle. In general he had to be much more aware of taking hits and dropping to a knee. These were not too much of a problem after some practice, though he would miss any hit which didn't 'move' the leg since he didn't feel it. Occasionally a massive hit or contact would cause the attachments to shift and he would have to re-strap. The prosthetic itself tore up a few weapons, especially when the edges/joints and corners were hit. A thick covering of 2 layers of sweat-pant material solved this. I think he also used some bits of foam in between the fabric layers on a couple places to prevent people falling onto bare metal. The joints caught a few fingers and weapons, the covering and foam stopped this. Once he had his special garb pants there were no real safety issues for anybody other than himself. He did have to be extremely aware and careful, spend a bit more time between battles to re-adjust, and always worried about the possibility of damage to the prosthetic.

PM or email me and I will give you more info if you wish.
