When does blocking become anviling?

Postby Dyn » Wed Apr 06, 2011 4:28 pm

So I recently made myself a red, and have found myself in an interesting postion - namely that I hit HARD.

So there's only one thing that's been bothering me, and it's not a huge thing, but when some people block with their swords, it flies into their shields, almost as though the sword block didn't happen. Is this incidental anviling? Or just a sword block? (Note: I'm hitting them on their sword arm side.

Thanks guys.
Edit: That makes sense to me, cold meds or not. Thanks.

If your red is maintaining contact with your opponents weapon through out the shot then I would say it is anviling if it hits with sufficient force still. If you are only hitting the weapon and it is popping back into the shield without maintaining contact then its a block.

Apologies if that doesn't make much sense cold meds are kicking my *.
