Red weapon light hit

Is a red weapon "light" hit considered a blue weapon hit in regards to armor? I have heard two different opinions and a lot of "I do not know" answers, so i was hoping for a fairly definitive answer.

If the hit is light, it is light, no matter what class the weapon is. You either take it or you don't. A light red hit does not equal a blue swing.

Nope a red counts as two points of damage if being used two handed; and 1 point of damage if being used one handed. Light hits are light hits and do not count.
