shields???

Postby Roseworthy » Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:33 pm

2. Equipment Classifications and Definitions
2.2.1. Shields and Bucklers are rigid objects that are padded on the front and sides, and are equipped with handles or straps. A Shield may not be constructed in a manner that would confer the advantage of unbreakable armor.

Would a shield strapped to the back be considered unbreakable armor?
Or is a shield only valid if it's on your arm?

Shields are breakable no matter where they are on your body. you can strap it to your back, but if someone hits it with 2 two handed swings, it's broken. if they get off a third shot before the shield is removed, it is considered to go through to your body (if it's on your back).

Rose Cyric is right, however the intent of the rule is to keep someone from making a pauldron out of foam and other materials and call it a buckler. Don't try wrapping the shield around body parts and no one will whine about this rule.
