28 inches bow draw rule

Postby Bain » Fri Nov 04, 2011 12:18 am

Is this rule talking about (#1) distance from the front of the bow to the back of the arrow, Or (#2) is it for how far you pull back the arrow?

EDIT:

The reason I am asking is this...

As archery defines it, the draw length is the distance you pull the string of an arrow back when firing. This means the arrow would be the length of the depth of the belly plus the 28 inch draw length.

As the forum seems to define (and not the actual rules) it 28 inches should be the distance from the front of the bow to the back of the arrow.

This leaves a LOT of room for interpretation...

RE: #1
That's funny! it means that you will get more power from one of those cheap little peewee scout fiberglass short bows than a longbow since the bellies are only like 6 inches deep! just make sure to invest in a forearm guard lol

draw length is determined by arrow length, not the bow it's used on. since bows are different, its easier this way. its 28 inches starting from the nock where the string goes to the head of the arrow. if you hit 28 inches before you hit arrow head, you need a draw stop there.
