Legal shot?

Postby Xavier » Sat Nov 05, 2011 7:03 pm

Today at practice someone was holding a weapon behind a shield they were carrying. Another fighter struck the shield moving it back into the weapon and forcing the striking surface into contact with the other fighters torso. Would that be considered a legal shot? It was definitely sufficient force

Sufficient force is sufficient force, regardless of who has control of the weapon. That said, it's up to the recipient of the blow to determine if the force was sufficient or not.

Basically, if it was clean and the weapon hit hard enough, then yes, it is a legal hit and you should take it, but I have a lot of trouble seeing how such a hit could be sufficient force. It's no different than if you were to swing a flail back over your shoulder and the head hit you in the back.
