Questionable Weapons

A fighter came to practice with the mace pictured below. It has a striking surface that is only about 1-2 inches wide with a stabby tip but incidental everywhere else. I didn't allow it on the field because I just knew too many people were going to get hit with the courtesy padding but also, he needs to glue a part down again. There is a stretchy cloth cover that goes over the whole thing but the only striking surface is that outer most edge along with the stabbing tip.

I have started calling this the Sperm Mace






Edit: The question being, is it legal? I wanted to double check here because he put alot of work into it and seemed very disappointed.

There are no minimum dimensions for weapons, so as long as it passes a good hand checking and a hit test it should be ok. Ridiculous looking but ok. Also as you said with that small of a striking surface he will have to be careful with hafting people.
