Strikes to multiple target areas

Postby Akroth » Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:22 pm

3.3.4. Weapons that strike both Armored and unarmored Target Areas are considered to have hit the unarmored Target Area.

3.4.4. A hit that strikes both the Body and either an Arm or a Leg is assumed to have hit the Body.

I am unclear as to how these rules interact with one another:

If I have body armor and no leg armor and receive a single blue strike that hits both my body and my leg, where do I take the hit?
3.3.4 indicates that it hits the unarmored target area (Leg).
3.4.4 indicates that it hits the body.

EDIT:
I figured the general idea behind the rules was to take the hit that is most harmful to you. Makes sense... However I don't feel that it makes much sense that the same hit could be taken differently depending on the battle situation.

Of course such hits are rare to begin with and the number of situations in which this will actually matter is minimal.

I would say the torso. Figure out target location first, then figure out if it's armored or not. That's a pretty gray area though.

i personally think it depends on the fight. in a field, leg, in a duel torso. the idea is to take the worst fo the 2, in this case there is no clear cut worst. what i would do is take one and call it loudly, if leg i would yell leg. if torso i would yell armor torso, atleast this way the opponent s knows what you ate taking and can adjust ont he fly accordingly.
