Steel helm legality question!

Postby Armas » Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:04 am

How much of one's face can a steel helm cover according to the rules? Specifically, would this be allowed? http://www.darkknightarmoury.com/p-5882 ... elmet.aspx I would really like a metal helm, and this one is only 80$ and has the protection I am looking for. I am recovering from a concussion from taking a wicked head shot last practice so I want better protection for my head. I am a college student so I can't afford much and I really like the look and feel of metal.

A helm like that would be legal as it's not a full metal helm.

However, that particular helm wouldn't pass (as is) because the nasal and occulars don't meet the penny-round rule. All corners of metal armor must be rounded to the diameter of a penny.

You could probably get a file and file it down, though, or just find a similar one elsewhere that's already penny round.
