Rolling onto a striking surface...

If two people are grappling over some weapons and they go to ground, and while rolling around one of them is rolled onto a striking surface, would that count as a hit? I would assume that the weapon would have to be held by one of the two fighters (or a third one), so it wouldn't be considered an unmanned weapon?

You must be struck with a striking surface for it to count. If it isn't swung at someone, it isn't doing damage.
