Calling garb on knee pads

Postby Saxavarius » Fri Sep 20, 2013 3:26 pm

I have a pair of bulky military knee pads and was wondering if it is legal to call garb if a shot lands on nothing but the knee pads.

I assume you mean if it grazes your knee pad, and it that case yes, that is a garb call.

It's a bit of semantics, but I would actually call 'graze' or 'glance' in that case. It'll be clear to your opponent that they didn't just hit garb, and some people may take a call of garb as you trying to shrug a shot. Using one of the other two calls will make it clear that the shot didn't quite connect enough to count.
