Ran across a german website, selling 'larp arrows'.

Thinking about buying one or two to check out. Thought I'd ask here if anyone could spot any issues that'd make them 'dead on arrival' before I purchase a couple to get them weapons tested.

There are two 'styles':
The flat head:

And a round head:

A huge difference, is instead of a penny on a tape base, they have a custom made plastic head underneath the foam.

Technically, they would be illegal as the rules specifically require a metal blunt:

Quote:
1.4.8.6. All arrows must contain a penny, or solid metal blunt of an equivalent gauge and circumference, perpendicularly secured at the end of the shaft.

You may be able to test them in controlled conditions, eventually graduating to local use, but as it stands now, they will not be legal for any interrealm event.

The head on the round headed ones are too small for us, and have enormous bounceback. They are also covered with latex on the tip, and that slaps a bit. They hurt a bit when you're hit by them.

The flat one might be ok with a cover, minus the issue Derian brought up.

Those are good points. One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of 'off the shelf' type arrows, especially those from European origins, are not designed for our style of full-contact combat. Many are designed for more traditional LARPing that involves slower paced combat. This lets them use arrows that have qualities (impact, bounceback, etc.) that would make them unsafe in our game.
