It's a very good topic to discuss, lets just keep goin on with it. I'm very partial to my "barely-blue" * swords, they're like an inch shy of being declared red with fairly long handles on them, i love the leverage ^_______^. The only thing i have against flails is that they're * hard to make and are higher maintainance than my ex >_<.

Why not make swords an inch longer to give you the option to use them as red?

When i made them i wasn't aware they they were just shy of red, and i had put lots of time into them so they're nicely balanced and kinda sentimental to me and didn't want to change them. But my newer swords of the same length are fully red.

i don't know why people are always complaining about flails being "talent on a stick" any one around here can do just as good with a sword as with a flail there are advantages and disadvantages to each one.

maybe people are just mad that they have to work a tiny bit harder to block flails :P

if they're the same length then they too should be reds

48" overall length is red classification

The fighting style of using a (usually) blue sword in one hand and a shield in the other.

I'm bit confused. are weapon classes dictated by blade length, or overall length? I always thought blade length for some reason.

I have started with red weapons and will die with red weapons. BUT I always keep a reg. blue sword as a back up. Especially when I have a glaive.

Judging by your avatar you seem like a fellow "big giant sword" man lol. My first weapon was a red, a 54" nodachi, still serving me well to this day.

Yes, the giant red sword, in my opinion, is the supremist of all weapons, they are hard to use, hard to run with and they stand out on the battlefield more than the bluesword and flails. My sword is 78 inches long, good for grouped battles, not so good for one on one against shields. And that beast tires you out after a few swings....* fast food...

Dude it will NEVER work. Getting it to pass weapons check would be a challenge enough.

How long have you been fighting?

I just think that swords are too cool for you.

I hope you can get back on the field soon Digoza.

But fighting since your 18? Come on. I wasn't born yesterday. And your lack of foamsmithing skills is proof enough.

Welcome to the sport tho' Also were you part of another foam fighting organization Before Belegarth?

Fencing might teach you a few things but I don't think it will help you at all. Since stabbing isn't used much and most people have shields.

Oh, it'll help, you see how strong fencer's wrists are? I fought a fencer once, he tore me apart, faster than any shield welder.

true fencing will help, but the fact that he posted that he we "Shouldnt worry hell hold out in a fight" shows that he needs another argument on top of his experience. That means even he thinks his experience wont help.

BifferBoffer and PIZZAPIE seem to be getting insulted alot lately, and I would like to say that they should not take this personally, their ideas are unique, but we would just like to keep safety an issue

And you two are making "Foam Smithing" board soooo much more interesting
