Search for sieg's posts. I remeber reading about cutting into it with a knife and using resin to reform it as a curved peice.

Tried this once and yes it took a while.

(Goggles get mask and gloves for fibreglass resin)

Get a plank of wood

Hammer in nails to make a brace, ie pirs of nails with the gap between of them of yoru rod that form your slight curve.

Think about two parallel cuves on a graph,

Coat in a fibreglass release agent

***
Get glass fibre strands ie string like

Coat your rod in the resin thickly and press on the strands and more resin.

*****

Bending your rod a bit (note if you let go and the spring effect flicks resin in your eyes your are **** so googles.

Place this in yoru nail and plank brace ie you bed the rod and the nails hold it in place.

Leave this to set hard, ideally overnight and not in your bedroom.

Pull out the curved rod whihc will be less springy.
