Rules for shield hits

Forgive me if it's been covered, I tried using the search and look for this answer, but it eluded me.

I was looking to find out what the ruling would be if I were to shield bash someone in the chest/other body part, would it be considered a 'hit' or just rattling the opponent?

wrong forum champ. but to ans your question, no it does not count as a strike or anything other than an aggressive maneuver.

You can be as aggressive with a shield as much as you want and shield edge someone, but it does not count as a hit of any way.
You can only use one shield, and it can block EVERYTHING, that is not 2 handed, FOREVER. A 2 handed weapon striking a shield twice will "break" the shield and it gets dropped.

Jab to the chest to knock the wind out of them or put them back a step, jab to their arms, shields, and weapons to lock them up and create openings, and full on bash people to knock them down.

Do it all safely, but do it.

It's a * move to do this on purpose. Minimize it as much as possible for safety and to lower the number of people who get * at you because you're aggressive with your shield.

I use a shield like I use my hand. I'll lock you up with it, I'll shove you with it, I'll use it to help take you to the ground. I won't strike you with it, and I avoid contact with my opponent's head and neck.

Don't "hit" your opponent with your shield, just like you don't "hit" them with your handle. The only black eye I ever gave in this game was on my first day, and it was by sending my opponent's shield back into their face.

back to a foamsmithing topic, make sure to edge your shield properly if your going to do this. At least 4 layers/2 inches of foam. I try to place my straps so I don't have any breaks in the front part of my edge layers cause that's where all my aggressive work is going to come from.
