Many of the foams can not be found at home improvement stores like Lowe's or Home Depot. Blue foam can be found at Walmart.

Most of the cores can be found locally, but ordering them online is more cost effective in the long run IMO.

Depends on what kind of foam you're looking for.

If you're looking for just some foam to work with, Wal-Mart camp pads go for around $7-$11. Otherwise I'd run a google search.

Also in some areas (like the area I live in) the only core you can buy in person is PVC, so if you may HAVE to order you core online if you want fiberglass.
