Sure, it can be done, but it's going to be a pain in the *. If you're looking to completely and entirely 'split' a rod (as opposed to cut), you're going to be out of luck. Due to the composite nature of fiberglass, you're not going to be able to evenly separate it without at the very least accounting for blade tolerance.
