recomended core guidelines

So I've been on the boards for a while, and one of the often repeated questions is what core should I use for X weapon. I would like to create a saved thread on recomended cores. For different weapon types. For example A dimesion fiberglass rods for weapons under B length, etc.

The other question I have is for a lightweight 5 to 5.5 ft greatsword, what core would you recomend? (Yeah, I tried search, but got a few different answers, so I wanted to consolidate the pros/cons in one thread)

This thread is a good idea and could be a big positive. SERIOUS answers only please. This will be regulated by mods as I think this could be a stickied thread. Experienced foamsmiths, look at this as a place to point the noobs who keep asking the same questions.
