tool alternatives

Postby Dante of Shadowdale » Tue Oct 18, 2011 10:54 am

hey,
I'm probably stupid for asking this, but does anyone know any good alternatives to a hacksaw for cutting cores? Unfortunately I'm lack a space in which i can use one to cut cores with, and especially with winter looming near by I doubt that outside is a very good option :spear:

I use the small saw on my leatherman. It works great, other than that IDK.

I honestly don't see why you couldn't simply cut them outside, unless the weather wherever you are is especially hostile that day. When you say hacksaw, you're talking about this guy, right?

They do come in smaller varieties, often labeled as "junior" hacksaws. Beware of really cheap ones though.

I live in Filer Idaho, and though it doesn't snow much in the winter it drifts like a *, thus it is kinda tough to use stuff outside, and my house is kinda small

I use a saber saw with a metal cutting blade. I cut the inside over a garbage can.

I use a rotary tool with a cutting bit. Second the outside thing, that or wear a respirator, if you're cool enough.
