after looking around the net the only one i can find is brutus one on youtube.

i was looking to use .265 arrows and make the modular base on .266 fiberglass ferrels from goodwinds. do you guys think brutus' method would work with these materials?

Yes but please use better materials, a noodle cone is never acceptable for any arrow.

I have a Facebook albumn with step by step on how I assemble mine. I've been approached alot lately about updating my Arrow tutorial and adding the Mod tip process. It's one of the things I really need to get around to creating.

i fully intended to to use better mats for the tips just making sure the tip to shaft attachment was usable. fitz, can you post a link to your tut you had?

my old Amt Tutorial is available at http://www.calistonarmory.com.

The general process is the same as i use now I just substitute 4lb foam for the cone, 2lb/1lb MC for the cap(s), and a Penn Brand tennis half ball for the tip.

This is the Facebook albumn showing my current mat's being used for modular tips:

Had some time over the Thanksgiving Break to work up a tutorial on putting together my Caliston Armory Arrow Kits. Steps 9-12 I believe outline how I assemble and attach the Mod Tips.

Last tutorial on the lower right of the page.

one last question, how long are your tubes that you use on the mod tips?

Ya know, I don't remember right off hand. I have a mark on my bandsaw that I just always cut them to after I figure out the optimum length.... I'd say 4.5-5 inches long. And I use a Carbon Fiber Arrow shaft that is just slightly larger then the standard 5/16th hunting arrow. Bought a whole case of them from a buddy that got them in bulk off of ebay a few years ago. I've decided to start adding in the Carbon Fiber tube to the kit at no additional cost for those interested in turning the kits into Modular tips.
