Coreless shield foam

Postby Spike » Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:21 am

Pretty basic question. I'm wanting to make myself a coreless strap/punch heater shield and I would like to use the lightest and most durable high-end foam I can throw my wallet at. Where would I go for this?

Here are two places:

http://www.houseofrogue.com/apps/webstore/

http://www.calistonarmory.com/

Both are reputable and know their product.

Sir Fitz from Salt Lake is the way to go. Cailiston Armory is his website. A ton of people in the west rock his stuff.

Par is too right. You cant beat the combo of awsome quality and sick price Fitz cranks out.

Do it yo. Do it.

I have made 2.5 ft wide round punch shields recently. 4 layer thick disk of foam to make the body. the pvc core handle stops flex along the vertical axis, and then i ad layers of foam running horizontally, starting at 6 in and decreasing in width as i added new layers until i got the rigidity i wanted. 4 layers for me. all blue foam.
