Any who, my opinion is make a sword with two striking sides. One blade may end up limiting your shot selection. The biggest thing I would worry about is dying, walking off the field, and having someone else pick up your weapon and unknowingly strike someone with the non-bladed side.
My two cents, take it or don't.
