Ive got a 4lb shield blank, and I haven't built with one yet, im wondering just how much covering in standard 2lb i need on the face and edges. I had a buckler that had nothing on the face but the sides were built up for size and it passed at CW.

it is a funny thing, they pass all the time with nothing. it is a * move but they pass. i prefer atleast .5 of 2 lbs for the edges and and a .5 for the face too, just because i think it is less harsh.

also i find that as the softer foam wears out i replace it, and the inner layer is still like new, adding to the life of the inner foam.

I would be very interested in acquiring a 4lb round blank if someone knows where to.

I know Warlord Sports sells 4# blanks, though I'm not sure if their prices are considered reasonable or not.

Seems like you may be best ordering from Barley, or maybe just buying the foam online. Foamforyou.com and foambymail.com seem to be popular choices for foam.

Warlord sports doesn't appear to be a solid 4 lb. blank. Hardiron sounded like they had a solid 4 lb. blank, that's what I want. Does Barley sell 4 lb. shield blanks?

I'm not 100% certain if Barley sells solid blanks or not. If you PM him here he'll be able to tell you for sure, and he may have better suggestions for you than I.

Looking at the description for the materials from WLS, I see now that it isn't solid 4#; my mistake.
