Polyurethane?

Hi,

I have inherited a roll of some foam that looks a lot like

Image

It is 1" thick - is this foam suitable for arrows, or anything else?

(The question in the subject indicates that a general google search on polyurethane, which the webpage showing the image indicates it is, doesn't show that kind of stuff until deep down...)

Looks kinda like the foam a guy by me uses to make his loaner shields.

It's hard to tell how suitable a foam is, even given the chemical makeup. What you want to check on it is how quickly and with what force the foam compresses. If it takes a moderate amount of force for it to compress completely over a couple seconds, it may work. Personally, I hit myself in the face with it if it passes the first test. If it still feels good after that, then give it a try on an arrow kit and test it out
