Rip-stop nylon for covers? Honestly, if you live in the PNW and still arch in the winter, you're kinda SOL as far as keeping anything dry is concerned.

I just use a sport/performance waterproofing spray on the covers of my arrows and javelins, and have started encouraging others locally to do the same.

Unlike the heavier (older style) sprays that leave a heavy coating of silicone, the sport sprays can breath, so when the arrows or javelins inevitably do get wet, it doesn't trap the damp inside while they are drying. So goes the theory, and so far so good.

Of course we don't use our missiles in downpours, but when it's only damp/wet we just don't leave the missiles sitting around, and check them between battles. If/when they become very wet, off the field they go.

There are no staffs in Belegarth. Because of how they are constructed, they are really Pugil Sticks.
