Finding Arrowhead Foam in Mexico

Hello,

I am trying to find some good foam for use on arrowhead, but as you may know, my group is based off of Guadalajara, Mexico. It took me days to find someone who would sell me mere polyethylene foam.

Now, I am trying to find some good open cell foam, comparable to something like charcoal foam. I do not wish to pay the shipping from the US, as that, I am sure, would cost me greatly.

I am not sure if my local dealership deals with charcoal foam or not. It would mean a great deal if someone could go in and tell me

I am thinking that, if anything, it is the Expanded Polythylene(EPE) stuff. Is this even open cell foam of a comparable quality to that of Charcoal Foam? If so, what density should I order it in?(They can also give me samples, beforehand)

Oh, and by the way, I think the density is measured in grams/liter. I found a chart: http://granpack.com/pdf/EPP.pdf

Judging by the pictures, that looks more like styrofoam than charcoal foam.

I found another store in my city which sells the stuff. Could you check and see if they sell something similar? I am not sure about the technical specifications of Charcoal Foam.

I honestly have no clue. You're best off to request samples.

Does anybody know what Charcoal Foam is made out of? Is it made out of charcoal?

Okay, I think it is polyurethane! I believe that my local trusted brewery has the stuff I need. I have never touched charcoal foam in my life. What are the characteristics I should look for? What is a good width?

I would recommend ordering some of Forged Foam's arrow heads. They'll sell just the head if you send them an e-mail asking for it. That'll give you an excellent idea of the foam you need.

I do have a POOF Football that I bought when I travelled to the US(I was unable to find charcoal foam), maybe you could compare it to the charcoal foam? I really do not wish to pay the shipping.

Those footballs are much, much denser, and much, much stiffer than charcoal foam. The foam we use for arrow heads, you can push down and compress it to, say 1/4 of its thickness without great effort.

Charcoal foam is Urethane-Ether Foam.

The charcoal firm specs on this list are what you are looking for.
