So I got an 8 ft ultra light durable core that I want to make a spear with a hook or an omniblade glaive

I kind of understand the pros and cons of both just I have never had something this large to smith all glaive and spears we used were 11/16 solid six footers.

So should I hook and stab or break and kill that is the question?

I'm a fan of glaives over spears just because you can use a glaive as a spear and strike with it too. If the length its too much, cutting it down 2' and making a side arm for close quarters.

They sell 6 ft cores though that's why I want to keep it at 8ft but what to make with it

P.S. You're poll isn't tracking votes. When I voted it said that it was an invalid action.

Spears are lighter and can getting into smaller spaces. Glaives are a bit more cumbersome but are great for tearing up lines. If your ultra-light core is carbon fiber, be careful if you decide to make a glaive on it. It's not the kind of core you go beast-mode with. You might break some shields doing it, but you'd probably also break your glaive.

If you fight on a smaller field a lot, you may find the glaive more versatile and more user friendly in smaller fights where you won't necessarily have a shield to give you some protection. If you intend to do more line fighting and want superior maneuverability, the spear would probably do you well.
