Its saying they are 9-11 oz thickness. The BoW requires atleast 12 for armor.

Too bad--Tandy had a 51% off sale (24 sq.ft. of 13-15oz leather for $69) that ended on March 31st. They have one pretty much every year, though, so no big loss.

I'm really sorry, everyone. I saw that it was armor-grade, $75, and with free shipping....as always...If it sounds too good to be true...
But on a positive note, I suppose you could use it for layering.

Yea, bein the resident (Des Moines, IA) armorer that was the first thing I checked when I looked at the site. Of course, I get the wholesale discount from Tandy so it doesnt matter either way to me.

Thought I'd mention that the website says these sides are veg-tanned, so they could be water-hardened. That process thickens the leather, so you'd probably be OK as far as meeting the 3/16" rule...
