or you can get realy involved and sew them together.

or you can use barges cement, but that's really better for book binding or shoes.

that's used pretty commonly for making mocs, so sure.

leather cord, that would make for some rough looking moccs. kind of a half-arsed look too.
the best to lace with unless you're making saddles or something is heavy waxed linen or sinew for lighter stuff. that's what my family has used to sew our traditional outfits with for several hundred years

What are you wanting to make? All of the above work, but some work better for some applications than others.
