Non-Bel Costume

Postby Tobia Blackthorn » Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:40 pm

I'm also a fan of gaming and costuming in general. I have a plan to do a character from the game BlazBlue for a costume some time, but I need to find a pattern, and couldn't find one. Thus, I come here, where I know I will find someone who can help. The character is shown below. I would be happy with a pattern that I can use for the vest, or adapt to fit it.

For the coat: Simplicity #4923, the "Jack Sparrow" costume coat. You'll have to put something like Pellon or millinery wire in the collar to get it to stay standing like that, and the sleeves will have to be something you pattern out yourself. The lapels can be easily modified from the existing pattern.

For the vest: try the Jedi-style vest in Simplicity #5840. You can probably use the belt, too--again, with a little modification.

Shirt, pants, and gloves should be easy enough to find pre-made. You're on your own for the boots.

For the boots, you might be able to find boot toppers similar to these:

and paint them. Then you could wear them over white shoes since the boot tips are white.

HAHAHAHA...I can attest that Hakumen can tear Jin apart...which makes sense. You know who Hakumen is right?

Not at all...I am someone who hates spoilers. I was commenting on the irony of Hakumen having the power to shred Jin.

Any suggestions for the fabric of the vest?

No, I'm guessing not for real. It looks rather bot-ish. You can tell by the random string of letters in the fighting style, the way it resurrected an old post and was completely on topic with one word from the title but not the rest of the thread, and also because it's not belegarth related at all.

Though I see no advertising, so I have no clue why it would be a bot. (If you're not a bot, say something).

But because it entertains me, I'll suggest that the boy should dress up as an emo princess and the girl should dress up as an Uruk Hai turned zombie.

You on the other hand, fghi127, are not nearly so convincing.

Points for changing the post subject; just follow your own instruction next time. Be a good little bot and run along now.

Luinmir,

If you need any help with your cosplay costume please PM me. I have been making cosplay costuming for several years. I have worked for Blizzard at GenCon for 2 years and a different booth (same convention) for this past year. This year I am working on a Saumus Aran costume, so we can bounce ideas off on another if you'd like.
