It is a very rustic look, kinda viking in my opinion (esp the colorful striped one). I like hem and I bet the do well in keeping you warm in the great white north.

They are warm, though I have to layer them up some times, but they have worked out pretty good so far this year. Only needed a long shirt under them once or twice (usually just my tunic). + they breath some, which is nice (as I wore them some in the summer).

The only problem is for a wile I was not taking my shots right because the extra padding.

The tabard-y looking bit? Looks like you're wearing a * rug.

The two-piece jacket? That's actually kinda cool. Double layer it and you've got a pretty cool gambeson with open armpits and everything.

I think that's some of the coolest garb I have ever seen. Great job, but how the hell did you think this up?

Every store I walk through I am looking of things that I can use to make something. This stuff is inspired by bel pocket brig I think.

Woah. This is pretty cool looking. Seems like it would be a cool pattern to make in pocket brig.

I am still flabbergasted that pocket brig is considered legal armor when titanium chainmail isn't lol.

You're flabbergasted that an armor made of legal materials is legal when an armor made of illegal materials is illegal?

No im flabbergasted that the armor made of legal materials is actually legal yet isn't actually armor, and wouldn't ever be armor, and is only possible because of the way the rules are worded, while the armor that would actually protect you, even though it is made of illegal materials is not permitted.

Not that i have an axe to grind in regards to titanium...but the entire reason for disallowing titanium is because its not a period material...but ninja pocket brig isn't period ether, yet is allowed because the way the rules are worded.

Correct me if im wrong, but pocket brig never existed in history, and its not period...which is odd to me since a lot of the rules in the book are in the book to keep things that aren't period out. But pocket brig slips through the cracks on a technicality even though its not period and would never protect you from an actual attack. For me, it would be like someone putting on football equipment and then claiming its armor.

In any case, ill be happy to discuss this more in the armor forum if you wish (since most of the general populace isn't permitted to post in the rules forum, and this is hardly the forum for this discussion.)

Pocket brig has leather in it. Leather is listed as a period material.

If titanium were a dark age material, I'm sure it would be legal.

But it's not. And leather is.

So whatever.

I'm glad we could all argue armor rules in the middle of a sweet garb tutorial.
Thanks guys, feels good.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for a rug I could use. I like the look a lot. I also think it would do well at colder events.
