The keyed fiddle was absolutely amazing. If I had the time or money for it, I'd learn a new instrument and play at events. Unfortunately...both commodities are scarce.

I'm investing in an mpg player system that not only sound insanly good, but is as loud as a bands PA system.
I'm going to mix up some midevaly music, irsh drinking nonsense and a certain amount of clutch and other mudane but interesting and funny songs.
I know it's not the same, but I'm excited about the new radio I'm getting and I was missing music all last weekend at TB.

I still think I should be allowed to DJ during battles. I guarantee I'll get blood flowing.

So this will likely be making its way to Chaos? If so, could we get a thread going with a possible playlist of cool crap? Because I know of some kick * epic pirate metal and I know there is some really Bele appropriate viking/norse metal that would work. If we all brought music or figured something out before hand this could be sweet.

When I have a music system at events, I will be the DJ.
I do not take requests. You will all be abused by my choices in music.
Prepare yourselves.

Well, I AM in the process of learning the bagpipes so perhaps at a future event I can at least attempt some entertainment....though not quite like that one in the link. lol

I sing quite a bit, so I can imagine any event I go to having a great deal of camp-wandering a cappella entertainment. For a drink or two, I'd do whatever song you had an ear for. I do specialize in folk music, of the Celtic variety, of course.

I need to learn some more Celtic songs, then I'll go about the whole camp to camp shenanigans. Could be fun.

It's pretty killer. I did this at a completely un-foam-combat-related event two years ago, and at a drink a song, I eventually had to stop because I was getting too drunk and forgetting the lyrics. I have a huge backlog memory of Celtic folk songs, sea chanties (surprisingly a crowd favorite), and American folk songs, so I'm sort of the de-facto bard of pretty much any group of people I hang with.

This is pretty much my favorite song to get me in the mood to fight...

Dropkick Murphys

Flogging Molly...

Pretty obvious trend here for me...

Had an event recently with an available PA system, got a good friend that DJ's at local clubs.

If we ever do an event there again, it will happen.... Pretty sure someone's gonna get hurt though ;)

I like O Fortuna and the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack. The singer in that version of O Fortuna looks pretty silly though. And those first three songs are too pop for me. Ruins my medieval experience.

I don't think you get the point. If this were another forum, I'd insult you and your mother now. She's already ashamed enough, though, so I'll leave her out of it.

For events, the goal is to have medieval or medieval themed modern music. Keep your metal in your earbuds at events. It's common courtesy and, as Magpie put it, could ruin someone's medieval experience. If not that, people will kick you in the scrotes for blasting metal near their camp. I would, and I'm a fan of metal.

If you want modern music, find stuff that at least has a medieval feel.

Unfortunately, you won't find a lot of metal that has the proper feel.
