Examples of Fight Garb for Chicks

This is a database of functional garb for female fighters.

Girl fighting garb is generally the same as guys fighting garb. It is cut a little different, often has laces on the sides for a better fit, and is sometimes tighter, but in general it is the same.

I know that googling medieval wear for girls generally yields impractical outfits. So here is a quick set of pics of chicks fighting in garb/wearing their fighting garb. Hopefully this will give girls a good idea of variety and options for practical garb for girls. If you have more pics you'd like to add or any comments for people making/looking for chick-garb, please do.

Thanks to all of the people who donated pictures.

** some of these pictures have girls in tank tops/blank t shirts, however other portions of their garb are correct so i'm posting them for reference.

My reactions to this page, in order, but not consecutive.

1: You'd hardly expect Lillith to have anything but good garb.
2: Not sure who I like more, the chick in the short skirt, or the guy in the short skirt.
3: How does she lift her arms with those pauldrons?
4: The girl in the black & whites is really rocking that haircut.
5: That's a LOT of wine right there.
6: Hm. Green IS best.
7: Credit where it's due. Epic shield kick is indeed epic.

Disagree because he looks good; agree because he makes me look bad.

I just want to say that person standing on their shield in the very last pic posted (so far) reminds me of a character select screen with a glowing disk below the archer. More people should pose this way. :P

I'm unconvinced how practical the first two outfits Joe posted would be for fighting. However it's always nice to see more crusader(ish) garb.

1st one - tit shots would be increased exponentially, but fighting in a skirt and corset is very doable provided both are fitted correctly.

2nd one - actually is fighting garb. What's so impractical about it?

I think he means that it is held together in the back with strings which carry (no pun intended) all the stress. However if it wont explode or collapse I see no problem with it.

From the back it just doesn't look very practical. It's possible to fight in a lot of different outfits; doesn't mean that's what the garb is designed for. With that being said, that's cool that the outfit it sturdy and fighting ready. :pirate:

Haven't you been to battles where female fighters took advantage of their more feminine attributes to gain the upper hand?

And I agree with Ilariia. Even when not fighting... By all means! Properly fit your corsets!!! There's nothing more odd looking than that "Meat shelf" women get when their garb doesn't fit properly!

While a well placed good knife would cause some excitement, it seems to all be fairly durable and thicker ties than it looks. And makes for one helluva sunburn.

I never can find the Spam on those meat shelves.

I like to try painting my face sometimes
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5410549&l=c16c556d78&id=596561184

Braids, tabard, slack-style sweats, and sometimes black leather athletic shoes, though lately some knee-high black leather boots from Nordstrom that are starting to die anyways.
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5453963&l=8ef98a5cfd&id=596561184

Close up of the tabard. It was tiger eye stitched onto the collar, which hasn't been a problem so far (the tabard is a bedsheet folded over four layers thick, then I made some ribbon and folded it over the edge to bind the hem).
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5509243&l=0f9b615343&id=596561184

And then there were a couple times I fought dressed as Snow White. I'm thinking about making this dress in browns and greens with sleeves that allow for greater movement and a slightly shorter skirt. The cape, however, was great: short enough to not get in my way, long enough for people to hit that instead of me.

(sorry, couldn't figure out how to shares the photo here, I kept getting the question mark boxes)

Alternately, right click any picture and click on "Copy Image Location." Make sure you check it in a spare tab, though, to make sure that you aren't getting a gross redirect or something.

i like the face paint. if you want to do it where it doesn't rub off and looks more like war paint than face paint you can use food coloring:

Image

it does sweat off after a time but it lasts for at least an hour or two. if you want other colors than the standard red, blue, green and yellow, you can mix them together. there are generally recipes for different colors on the back of the box.

Thanks Sieg - both sarcastically and genuinely. I can't get photobucket to work for me after two years of trying. It just doesn't like me.
But whatever, even if you aren't nice I know it's just because you're a teddy bear. One that got burrs in its fur.

That's sweet of you Dyre, thanks. I wasn't sure if it looked okay or not.

The face paint is a bit neon, but at least it sticks pretty well. How do you get the food colouring to work as face paint? Just direct application?

it's a dye so it stains the skin rather than sitting on it. mix it with water, about a 1/4 cup water for 6 or 7 drops of color. more dye if you want it darker. and then i use a paint brush and brush it on just like paint. if you * up, you can start over if you wipe it off before it dries.

There is a story here that would make this make a bit more sense... This was at Giants Awakening 2010, the first event Thunder Guard held where people outside of Thunder Guard came, Illano at this point did not really have garb, he was a min.garb requirement kind of guy, and the event was super hot and his black sweatpants and black tee shirt where just too hot for him so one of our girls had this dress and it fit him, and was cooler to wear then his sweat pants, so he wore it, it was his first real garb piece, since then he has made tunics, gotten new pants, and hasn't worn the dress since.

Been doing that for 5+ years. I only wear wrap pants. With holes o.O

All I'm saying is that hiding the top of a bra is not too much to ask.
