Ok so hows my garb looking?

Postby LoganSteele » Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:52 pm

My combat boots got "lost" at a friends house so until then its my black shoes but hows does my garb look so far? I made my sack myself but plan to buy a better leather bag for my stuff from a more experianced leather worker one of these days. I just got the pants in the mail today from Linengarb.com
They are awesome.

Better than a lot of garb out there. Are those Rus pants or is that just a trick of the eye?

Thank you very much. My allies out here said good things but i knew posting here would get me a honest answer. I do still have a few things on my list to improve on what i have already. Im glad to know i should be safe from the special attentions of the "Garb Police unit." :D

What direction are you trying to take your garb?

For the moment im happy having something that looks good (fantasy rather then period accurate is ok for now) and is comfortable. In the future im looking to move more into a Viking Rus style. I am looking around at various sources for garb pieces i like and i guess we shall see what develop as i grow my garb collection. Im planning on getting myself a few sets of garb for those multi day events and maybe one day a feast garb set.

It looks good man. At least as importantly, it looks comfy to fight in. You should bring your Desert Breeze peeps and come on over to WoR in February so we can see it in person.

Great improvements!

Are you looking to go Varangian Rus (aka Scandinavian "Rus"/Varangian) or Kievan Rus? Varangian Rus are your typical "Viking Rus" that travelled through Eastern Europe and mostly originated the Varangian Guard (along with some Kievan Rus and others folks, thanks to Vladimir I); Kievan Rus are the conglomerate of cultures (including Nordic) to found Russia.

When you are looking for info, let me know, I can hook you up. :D

Excellent...I honestly did not know the difference. I am still looking stuff up! The wisdom of my peers in this sport shall prove very valuable it appears. I would have to look at there clothing to see which ones i like best.
