Ling Fiber

Postby Thomas MacFinn » Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:13 pm

Has anybody heard of ling fiber? I was looking for an article on here about linen and wool and stumbled across that term. As far as I knew "real linen" was made from flax.

Don't think there is such a thing . . . but yes, in modern English linen refers to fabric made from flax, or, a bit more loosely, bast fiber from any other plants. Historically in several languages the word for linen could refer interchangeably to flax, hemp, and nettle linens.

I never noticed that. I was too busy noticing other aspects of the page. It's probably a typo. I can ask Adric about it if you like?

I didn't know you were already here? Also, I love your constant good humor in terms of other men admiring how hot your wife is. Although, I guess, if I were married to that hot of a chick and knew she had eyes for just me I'd probably want to show her off too. ;)
