Lemme guess... does Sean Bean die right before the end ;)

Really?
I just heard that he actually does it but I don't know if it was for real.

My inspiration is the 300 movie that tells about the history of the great 300 soldiers who fought for freedom.

Uh...moreso a fight for defense against invasion. Fighting for freedom implies that they were already under the Persian thumb, which they were not. Also, there were SIGNIFICANTLY more than 300 soldiers there. It's just that there were ~300 Spartans holding the actual pass, with Athenian navy * the Persians at sea and a decent number of both Athenian and "conscripted" archers/support soldiers keeping the fight pinned down on the front where the Spartans could the fight how they were accustomed to.

But really, the Spartans weren't the only cats at said boogaloo. Sure, they get the credit for holding the Persians back at the pass, but what isn't given is the history of how their city-state crumbled from within as outside pressures killed off their soldier caste and they were left as a shadow of their former selves.

Edit: That said, go balls to the wall, dude. Put your garb out there and be bold about it. Go balls deep or go home.

I agree. But I'm a kind of confused on the story itself. I don't know why at the end there are lots of soldiers but from the very beginning they haven't seem to fight on the first battle.
I wonder where could those warriors be hiding?

Any confusion you have is because you're watching a movie based on a graphic novel based on a fantasized account of a historical event warped by several thousand years of retellings. Don't put too much stock in to it and enjoy it for what it is.

That's Phisic and Orso and their EMP freinds at Phisics annual ROman Villa Gladiator events, in Florida. Right be fore they fight and get all bruised and cut up.
While it looks like fun, and I wanna go some time, this picture is neither from TV or full of inspiring garb. Nothing WRONG with their garb, it's just not "inspiring". I mean, it's skirts and greaves and bracers.
Lets try to keep this **** on topic, this is suposed to be a garb research aid.

Also, I wasn't posting that picture to be inspiring. I was posting it as a warning.

Kyrian:

Ironclad (King John, post-Magna Carta). Largely accurate in the grand storyline, but William Marshall wasn't a Templar, and they didn't chop off the one guys hands.

Arn the Templar

Also, Alexander Nevskii- its an older movie, I want to say 1930/1940? It was about the Battle on the Ice (Lake Peipus, 1242). Great garb, largely accurate for the Teutonic Order.

This didn't happen until well after the Persian Wars. Actually, Plutarch has a really cool line at the end of his Habits and Customs of the Spartans where he abruptly concludes several hundred lines of "Spartans are hardasses because..." with "...and now they, like the rest of the Greeks, have been subjected to Roman rule."

I would say they were fighting for "freedom," (after all, you can fight for freedom even if you haven't lost it) with the (rather large) caveat that there was no concept of personal freedom in the Ancient Mediterranean, so the depiction in the movie is quite inaccurate.

to toss onto the list.

Battle Chasers by Joe Madureira
Kull The Conqueror by Robert E. Howard (check out the Dark Horse comics series, or possibly the old marvel stuff. The movie is uninspired, including the costuming)
Slaine from 2000AD
and Red Sonja, though Sonja herself only ever wears chainmail bikinis. Again, check out the comics, the movie was an abomination
