Medieval Games

Postby Kensman Bam » Tue May 03, 2011 10:23 am

Hey folks,

At recent SCA event, I was introduced to a game called Hunker Hauser. This is a 2 player game, where both contestants stand on a narrow object so that they are off balance, and about 30' of rope. They stand about 12 to 15' apart and proceed to have a one on one tug of war. This games is great when starting off but add in some alcohol and it gets even better! I am trying to bring this game to Beltaine, so please feel free to drop by the Cu Sith camp at night time and try this game out!

Does anyone else have a good Medieval game that like to play?

Historical.... no. However, as it would pertain to our society, I always enjoyed Outeat a Bugbear. To'Gur vs. some kid... food was quickly a non-issue as it came down to eating actual disposable feastware.

Kubb is awesome... just learned it last weekend. It's a bowling, horseshoe, bocci ball, and lawn darts type of game. Also improves with alcohol.

Soooo, explain the way kubb is played? Enquiring minds want to know. I want to try your game out too Bam. I'm not a drinker so drinking games aren't for me.
