Problems with pocket brig

Postby Taxfrog » Thu May 26, 2011 4:14 pm

I've heard a few * pocket brig GTFO's and I'm wondering why. From my understanding pocket brig is Image (this is property of Bismark), maybe I'm just looking at the wrong type of pocket brig, but, please, why would this be any problem on the field?

This is really a question for the armor or rules forum, but I'll give an answer. Most people object to pocket brig because they can't immediately tell its armor from a decent distance. Most people do not put the rivet in each pocket like you did to show that its different from garb. A lot of the stuff I've seen doesn't look any different from a shirt at a distance of more than 15 feet.

It is as far from real armor as you can get and stay inside the rules.
It would serve NO purpose ina fight except to make you hot.
And what par said, it looks like cloths and is not disernable as armor from a distance.

there are also a great deal of people who make it VERY crappy.

gaps larger then half an inch (illegal by the rules and people dont check it sometimes) are pretty common in a lot of pocket brig. Also theres a great deal of people who use a low quality fabric and it starts to fray and just fall apart. Well made pocket brig i can appreciate but I had pocket brig that is falling apart and looks bad. Have some pride in your work.
