Barbarian War Kilt for Tumbark

Postby Blackhawk » Mon Jun 06, 2011 10:55 pm

Trying to marry these two ideas to the mighty Tumbarks character was a herculean task to say the least.

Given that Tumbark's totem animal and inspiration is the ferocious silverback gorilla. The only true way to do this is to include an epic story to go along with it.

The kilt is made from high grade black linen and masterfully sewn by Kevat of Badassgarb.com using the traditional utili-kilt as inspiration. What makes it a true barbarian war skirt is this:

When Tumbark was in the mountains, he came across this ferocious beast. Tumbark, always looking to test himself, threw down his weapons and began beating his chest. The beast took this as a challenge and roared at the barbarian. "let's go" Tumbark said to himself. Just then the mighty silverback rushed him. Knowing he could not absorb a full charge, Tumbark dove left at the last split second while grabbing a handful of the monster's fur right at the shoulder. Knowing that letting go would mean his death, Tumbark dug his powerful fingers into the beasts shoulder and hung on for dear life. Tumbark punched and hammered at the gorilla as it tried to shake the barbarian off, but the grip was to great. Then the beast ran head long into a tree throwing Tumbark off. Tumbark landed in a heap in the midst of a savage thorn bush. Beaten and battered, He let out a ferocious roar and charged out of the thorn bush ignoring how the thorns tore at his skin. He emerged with a wicked grin, covered in sweat and blood, some his, some belonging to the beast, only to see the silverback disappearing into the jungle. The barbarian let our a roar and began laughing, then he looked at his right hand, in it was a strip of fur from the beasts shoulder. He did not lose his grip, he held in his hand a glorious trophy of the encounter. Tumbark sat down next to the tree that the beast used to remove the barbarian from his back and immediately began sewing the trophy to his kilt. It was at that moment, that he saw a tooth from the beast on the ground next to him.

Oh yea, and about that tooth:

He sewed it right on with the pelt.

Speed does not equal intense. Realistic, brutal, savage, simulated dark age combat is intense. You want speed, go run track!!
