well i almost made a new account to post this question because im aware of the fact of how stupid and n00bish but i kinda wanna know. would ninja-type wear be acceptable garb even though its not period?? acctually technically it IS period just asian and not european... well please dont think down on me for my stupidity

What type of ninja? If you're talking about a gi, probably don't want it modern with all the logos, etc. We can do far east (asian, etc) medieval period, just not the gunpowder weapons that region of the world had.

Actually the black "ninja outfits" are not period and were an element in Japanese theatre to represent invisibility against black backgrounds.
To properly portray a ninja persona, you'd be better off dressing like a rice farmer or even samurai. It's likely a ninja would not want people to know he or she is, indeed, ninja.
Honestly though, if you want to wear the black gi, the tabi, etc... do it. I'm just trying to help you out if you want to be a little closer to accuracy; however, I'll admit... sometimes the romanization of a subject is much more fun than the reality. Have fun with it.

You will likely get less flak right naow anyways, everyone is off at Chaos Wars. If it is well made and well worn, no one should give you too much crap. At least, not much more than the standard issue crap you get when you sign up.

This is very true. The real ninja look like the clothes from that period should be good. Just dont wear spandex.
