Postby Geshtal » Tue Aug 09, 2011 12:25 am

So i Know that a lot of people have their own preference for garb fabric, but i would like to start a census on the most used fabric for fighting garb i know i personally used to use trigger fabric for both sword covers/garb but i can no longer find any. So yeah what are you guys using nowadays?

Thanks for your input.
You either Die a hero or Live long enough to see yourself become the villian.

Linen is essentially the best choice for garb in the summer time. Wool is nice for winter fighting.

Medium-weight linen and worsted or tropical wool all year round. Fulled wools or coatings or melton for stuff like cloaks.

Agree. Lightweight wool over top of linen feels even better than linen on its own in the heat. You sweat buckets, but the layer of wool controls the evaporation so that it keeps you chillingly cool. I wear it in Florida, wouldn't dream of wearing short sleeve cotton or even linen on its own.

If you don't believe me about lightweight wool, wear linen on its own.

For the winter, multiple layers of wool over linen (layers give you more control over the temperature). If the event is going to be wet, just wool (it still keeps you warm when it's wet; linen and cotton both soak up water and make you cold). Or you can wear a thick wool coating, but you have less options for taking off a layer if you get warm.

Also if you need fabric for weapon covers, and you really like trigger, champion is the same thing basically.
