Kneepads

Postby Warwyck » Thu Aug 18, 2011 2:54 pm

Hey guys the ground on the field I practice at is not the best and the volleyball kneepads I bought tend to slide down. Could someone suggest me something better?

I don't use knee pads, but i have heard the gel shock ones are the best for not sliding around on yer legs and that. I don't know where to get them though.

I have an older/thicker/better pair similar to these: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R ... ogId=10053

I wear them under my greaves and they seem to work well to keep my knees from being bashed up, as well as helping keep my kneecaps in place.

Try a different size of kneepads maybe? I don't have problems with my volleyball kneepads.

If you're a bigger guy, the volleyball kneepads might not work the best in teh world. See if you can find some wrestling kneepads. Everyone I know that uses them loves them.

Yeah, wrestling kneepads are designed not to slide off your knee. They would be completely worthless in the sport otherwise.

You may be interested in looking into a pair of paintball kneepads.
I have a pair of proto kneepads that i've used for two years that are pretty freaking sweet. Can be a little expensive if you dont have a local shop.
Here's a link to a large selection of them.

Use winingas on your lower legs and they help hold the kneepads up while making your garb silhouette more period-correct for most of the medieval time period.
