Full-body spandex suits.

Postby Pig » Mon Sep 19, 2011 5:53 pm

Yo there, It's Legion/Pig. Now this is gonna sound reaaaaly stupid and dumb but..

I own one of those full-body spandex suits that basically turns you into a human color. It's black, so I guess I would be a human black hole. Now, the 'character' I play is a demon, alright. A very, very anonymous demon. In my black/white garb combined with a full suit of spandex that covers everything, I think it would complete the message of, "One of many" since it's hard to tell who I am.

Also, I would just look like a big shadow, with a sword.

Now, I know it's not.. period, per se. I'm sure people from the 1600's and before had hoods that they could see out of and covered their faces completely though. I was just wondering if it would be acceptable.

I've already thought of the oh-god-im-sweaty issues, so let's not worry about that sorta stuff. Just looks.

Alright, thanks..

So long as you have passing garb over the top of it, I'd have no issue. Also, it isn't neon colored, so that's a plus.

Despite what the General Mayhem looks like, this site isn't 4chan. Don't treat it like it is and you'll do fine, champ.

That, and I saw pictures of a dude in a green morph suit from an event down California way and was immediately concerned when you asked the question.

What Arrakis said. Sounds like it could be do-able, but pics would tell us for sure.

Now that's just weird. Toss a cowl or hat or helm and that would actually look really cool. How is your grip on your shield/weapon while wearing that? Also, how's your air intake restricted? I would hate to see a dead black shadow on the ground and not realize they were passed out from lack of O2.

It's not restricted at all. The grip on my shield is basically unhindered, but I usually wear gloves so it wouldn't matter much.

So yeah, the only thing I can notice is that my vision is slightly put off. It's like staring through a blanket.

Really sounds like something that would be better suited for walking around camp as opposed to fighting just because of the sight restrictions. Seeing those minor twitches or that archer 50' away looking at you with that "look" can mean the difference between living and dying.

If you're out to just have fun, then by all means, fight in it (IMO - I'd pass it as long as you had functional garb on over it). If you're one of those people who have to be alive at the end of the fight, I'd think twice. Just don't expect to wear just the black suit and fight on my field though.

And please remember that as you get older, spandex is a privilege, not a right. Just because Pig looks good in it, does not mean anyone else will...
There's no room for heroes in the country called War. There's no one out here but soldiers and sorry * and it's damned hard to tell the difference between the two of them. The gods of war are a pack of random bastards, as indiscriminate as hand grenades and hailstones.

Semi-on-topic, did anyone get a picture of Barley's genie outfit Saturday night of 'Fest?

Late to the party I know but we have a fighter who occasionally dons one of these (his is red)

Not exactly garb but it's the right amount of "weird" and "cool" that we let it slide without bugging him too much.
