What's wrong with a kilt for a Celt? Watch King Arthur, get some ideas from their tribal people...that would be my suggestion (aka, I'm too lazy to look for photos for you with your recent attitude towards me).

I'd call him "Mo" in the future, buddy.

I think it was purposeful in his abbreviation of MC's name...

Period Celt is pretty simple actually.

For more of a fantasy celt look, I have to actually say I take some inspiration from the '04 King Arthur with Clive Owen.

those are actually picts, not celts. that is, the people who painted themselves blue were picts (pict relating to the word for painted in the roman accounts of interactions with that culture. we don't actually know what they called themselves.) they were enemies of the celts, who later concurred them. Very similar in heritage but technically not celts.

basically i would suggest a nice torque, decorative knot work on anything and everything you can, especially armor, and then whatever garb fits the time period you're looking to rep. Different knots have different meanings too so that's cool, and the meanings are well documented. you can easily find them online.

It depends on how ancient you want to get. We could consider the 'Picts' the aboriginal people of the British Isles, and they almost certainly had their own, non-Indo-European language. However, in the early Iron Age, Britain was invaded by the Celts, who originated in Central- and Eastern Europe. These cultures merged, and the result was a decisively Celtic-speaking, and Celtic-acting population (according to my sources). So, if you would want to play a non-Celtic 'Pict,' the best way to do that may be to Bronze-Age-ify yourself.

What did you have in mind, Mo? Like, which Celtic group, and at what time?

btw, Acorn looks dope as **** in horns and paint.

See, i always just drew the line AT bronze age and figured "once too celt-y you're a celt" which equated to not being blue. But you have good points.

And thanks for the compliment. I did that for monster day but also because TECHNICALLY i myself am a pict. I have yet to have actual pict garb rather than the "babylonian mongoloid" style (as we call it.) that the west tends to rock but this years CW i'm totally rocking some. :) You'll be there yes?

And moreancum you too. Everyone must *.

(cwatididther? ;))

(but no seriously, it's an awesome good time. you should come.)

Wouldn't miss Chaos for the world, and I'm coming from NY next year!

I'm thinking of writing an academic paper exploring the martial arts of the Celts, and comparing that with Greek and Roman depictions of Celts at war. So, I may have caught the bug before next July.

You have no idea how happy this makes me. Now I've got less than seven months to come up with an awesome craft to give out that will land me a place among the senatores.

That guy's got balls (which, I'm sure, you've seen).

And this is coming from a guy who basically wears a mini-dress when he wants to look his Greek best.

Tibby, you coming to Chaos next year?

That's why I created a Greek-influenced group; I don't have to be 100% accurate. I've done a kilt before... but there's just something about the chiton.
