Roman Sandals

Postby Cheeseheart » Fri Jan 06, 2012 10:35 am

Anybody know of a site that would sell some decent-quality roman/gladiator-esque sandals? I've found these on Medieval Collectibles:

But I was wondering if anybody had a better option for relatively the same price? Or if the sandals from Medieval Collectibles would even be able to stand up to our combat?

Hawaii: Manoa
Washington: Gondor

There are no staffs in Belegarth. Because of how they are constructed, they are really Pugil Sticks.

I dont know about those ones you linked it says they are fake leather.
I've never ordered from these guys but these sandals are made from real leather. They are more expensive but its your call.

You could just find a normal pair of leather sandals at like good will and then wrap your legs like they do in Spacticus. Would look gladiator to me.

Ditto, use regular sandals and add extra leather straps up around your calf if you need to. Walmart's got them for $25 or so. Be careful if you're not used to no ankle support.

You can't use legitimate caligae because they're ancient metal cleats.

Wrap your legs? If you have greaves id just wear those. If not wrap you legs with some thicker cloth and tie it with leather or cord. Or sew some cloth strips on it and tie em. I don't know how comfortable the leather or cord would be though.
