http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=119267At some point this year, I intend to try doing this. I've been using a pair of Son of Sandlar boots for a few years now and they give me fits at the end of the day. They're fine at the beginning of the day but I often can barely walk with the combination of the swollen feet and the boots. The way I figure it, this is a way to maintain the comfort of sneakers while making them look a little bit more period without the expense of buying period shoes. The next time I buy boots (if this doesn't go well), I will shop towards the end of the day and make sure I try the boots on with gel cushions inside.

Very nice. I'll definitely have to try this when I get some new fighting shoes.
