I've been collecting new and lightly used bed sheets and pillow cases from friends and family as a cheap source of cloth lately. I have no problem using the sheets in my various projects but I am having trouble with finding uses for the pillow cases. Sure, I can make bags and the like but I don't have any ideas for other small projects. The thought occurred to me that I could sew them together to make a 'patchwork' type of cloth and just cut out larger projects from that but I don't think it will look any good.

Can you guys and gals help me with some ideas for these pillow cases?

Rocks. Tons and tons of Rocks. I have the foam for you.

They also work for light, cheap weapon covers, so long as they're unpatterned and of a muted color.

What is the material common in the pillow cases? Colors? Any embroidery?

Bags, weapon covers, rocks, gloves (for feast and the ladies in your life), and depending on the quality of the material and size - you could actually take some of the pillow cases and try sewing them into a vest. Find two matching pillow cases and you could probably make a vest out of them.

I absolutely made a vest out of one of the fancier sets and it turned out great. Just sewed up the sides and top, cut in a head hole and boom, sweet vest with a secret pocket and free inner lining.

Rocks are a great idea. Ive always wanted a bag of rocks, you never know when they will come in handy.

You can make hood/mantle combos out of old pillow cases rather simply. There are patterns to be found online by googling.
