That clear plastic packaging tape.

This is something we ran into at our field that got us thinking.
I remember when I started it was told to me (Probally several times) That packaging tape on the weapons=bad/fail.
Now over the years this has pretty much stuck.
The reason I bring it up is because alot of Amtguarder's (sp) are starting to see the light and come over to the dark side. Everyone knows that their weapons are built differently. They tend to like to use...oh I'd say a fair ammount of the junk to hold it together. I know the reason we never allowed it is because the stuff stings, and it also does not allow the foam to breath. Is there somewhere in the BoW that mentions this junk tape or has it just been something left to the Heralds to decide on case by case?

If you didn't find it in the Book of War, then no it isn't a rule. I've never used the plastic packing tape, but have used "strapping tape" - similar stuff with fibers running the length of it to add strength. If used sparingly, it can tighten up wobbly weapons and will hold a lot longer than duct tape.
