I have a couple of guys whose new carbon shafts have the currently trendy quick-spin vanes:

These are perfectly valid in 'real' archery and provide appropriate flight stability. Some folks have called into question whether they are adequate for our heavy arrows. So, as a checker, would these little 1.5-2" quick-spin vanes qualify as full fletchings?

That's my inclination as well.

I think the rule was intended so that arrows would still be "aim-able". Without at least two fletchings arrows are much harder to aim, and therefore more dangerous.

I am with everyone else here. As long as there are two full fletchings attached to the bow, i would be happy, doesn't matter to me how long they are as long as they show to not be cut down after they were installed and the entire fletching is attached.

As for aiming, it's gonna be a challenge anyway, just happens when you have a 3" block of foam at the end of the shaft ;) Although it does help to have fletchings attached.
